Crossword Puzzle Nightmare
Friday, March 28th, 2008I recently sat down for whatever reason and started to work on the “expert” crossword puzzle in the Sunday edition of my local newspaper. I do not know why I did this as I have not worked a puzzle in many years, but I did.
It started out easy enough and I was actually enjoying the game. I guess you enjoy something when you are having easy success. After filling in the “easy” answers I actually knew, the hard work started. Needless to say after a couple hours I was getting frustrated. It even turned into a mission to finish the puzzle.
Long story short, I gave up after 5 hours of working the puzzle on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. After I calmed down, I decided I would just stick to the “easy” crossword puzzles.
I have learned my limitations and will never try to fool myself again into thinking I can solve the “expert” puzzles.
